We survived a super busy time of year and we made it to summer! For us, that means a tad more free time. There aren’t as many photo shoots and we have a free weekend here and there.
To take advantage of the slower season, less photo shoots, and less obligations in general, we decided to enjoy a little getaway. We took a 4-day trip to Hilton Head and enjoyed our first vacation by ourselves since our honeymoon, which was over 2 years ago. Over the past two years, we have taken some amazing trips, but they were always with friends or family. There is nothing like being able to unplug from the day-to-day life and reconnect with your spouse.
Katie and I live very busy lives. We stay on a pretty strict schedule with little down time between our full time jobs, photography, volunteering at church, community group, going to the gym, visiting family, and Katie’s new Mary Kay business. In between all of that, it leaves little time for us to sit and relax with each other.
You don’t realize how busy you are until you take a step back from all of your responsibilities. For us, Hilton Head was the perfect option (not only because we have a wonderful Aunt that allowed us to stay), because it’s an excellent combination of history and relaxation. Mitchel prefers to go out and do something, like visiting forts or going on a hike, while Katie could sit on the beach all day every day until it’s time to pack up.
We are so thankful for this little trip together.
