An Elegant & Intimate Summer Wedding Day

Jana and Drew were married on May 20 at Smyrna Methodist Church in Lowndesville, SC, just outside of Iva. Their reception was at Drew’s parent’s home in Anderson. 

Drew and Jana met their freshman year of college through mutual friends. Their first date was to a church Christmas play together. Jana was working at the church’s daycare at the time and they went there then out to eat after.

Jana and Drew love being outdoors and have always loved to go fishing together. He proposed while they were fishing on his boat one Saturday morning at Lake Russell. Jana was totally surprised!

I first met them when we got together for their engagement photos. We took them at their land where they built their precious cottage and where they plan to build their forever home someday. It is just beautiful out there and when we took photos it was just before sunset and had the most incredible glow from the sun hitting just right between the beautiful, tall trees.

The Wedding Day

On Jana and Drew’s wedding day, we were blessed with the most perfect weather! It was such a lovely day. Jana and Drew were both relaxed and excited to get married! Neither of them seemed nervous or anxious at all.

Jana and her friend, honorary matron of honor, Ashley, got ready in the fellowship hall of the church with Jana’s mom and Drew’s mom. Jana had the cutest pjs and long lace duster/robe that were just adorable.

We took a few family photos before the ceremony and then it was time for their ceremony! They opted to see each other the first time when Jana walked down the aisle at their ceremony. Their eyes were locked on each other from the moment Jana came through the church doors. It was a short and sweet ceremony and then Jana and Drew and I took a few photos of the two of them, then everyone headed to the reception at Drew’s parents home.

We took family photos there, then it was on to the reception events. Drew’s mom and her friends had created the most beautiful dinner space and everything looked just beautiful. This was all a surprise to Jana and Drew, and the moment they saw their den flipped into a beautiful looking dinner venue, their jaws dropped! 

It was a sweet evening with their closest family and friends and I was so honored to witness it and get to know these two sweet people and their families.
