Pretty Place & South Wind Ranch Wedding

Kristina Cagle and Casey Johnson were married at Pretty Place Chapel in the mountains of South Carolina on August 24, 2024. Their reception was at South Wind Ranch in Travelers Rest, SC. Their wedding was a sweet and special destination wedding weekend as they both live in Florida, and many of their family and friends traveled from Florida and North Carolina to celebrate!

Casey and Kris met a few years ago when she moved in next door to him. Casey had his eye on her from the start and his friends really wanted to meet her, so they starting asking every red-headed girl they’d meet if she was Casey’s neighbor. Ha! We love how invested they were in this relationship!

The Wedding Day

Casey and Kristina are always joking and giving each other a hard time – they are truly so fun! It was said during reception speeches that she holds her own and will dish it right back to Casey! Their love for each other is evident and so sweet. They looked so happy together on their big day! 

The day started with everyone arriving at Pretty Place Chapel, with the most stunning view of the Blue Ridge Mountains. It was the most beautiful, mild Summer morning with lots of sun and the most lovely view! Many of their family and friends had never been to Pretty Place and were in awe of the view. They had a sweet morning at Pretty Place with Casey’s brother officiating their ceremony. It was so heartfelt and personalized.

Pretty Place & Camp Greenville is super special to Casey and many of their friends as he used to spend many summers there as a teenager. It was also a special place because one of Casey’s childhood friends who passed away many years ago is memorialized there with a plaque that looks out over the mountains. It was so special for them to honor his friend Gavin with their ceremony at Pretty Place. 

After the ceremony, we took a few group photos and lots of fun shots of Casey and Kris with the mountains as a beautiful backdrop! Then they got to have a few moments with their close friends at the archery range that was built at Camp Greenville in honor of Gavin. 

Everyone had a few hours to rest and relax and then everyone met up at South Wind Ranch in Travelers Rest for their reception, just a short drive down the mountain from Pretty Place.

Guests began arriving and then the couple got to enjoy cocktail hour on the patio with yummy appetizers from Fork Grove BBQ in Anderson and drinks provided by South Wind Spirits.

The Reception

The new Mr. & Mrs. Johnson had the most fun reception entrance, riding up to the venue on Casey’s awesome Four-Wheeler. Truly a grand entrance that had all the guests on their feet clapping. They shared their first dance and then Kris and her mom shared a fun dance, then Casey and his mom danced as well! 

They had the absolute BEST BBQ dinner by Fork Grove BBQ and banana pudding as their dessert. Then they danced the night away with The DJ Crane providing entertainment!

They had a sparkler exit that looked like a fairytale and the night came to a close!
