Welcome to the blog. Here you're going to find everything from heart-warming marriage stories, to beautiful images of our clients. We want to invite you into our lives.
Madeleine and John were married on May 4, 2024 at Historic Hopkins Farm in Simpsonville, SC. This place was so special to them because John grew up here on his family’s farm. Talk about a full-circle moment! From childhood memories to saying “I do” surrounded by family and friends, Historic Hopkins Farm holds a special place in John’s heart, and now, it’s forever etched in Madeleine’s too.
John and Madeleine first met at work a few years ago and the rest is history. They are so fun and joyful together and looked so happy on their wedding day! We first met Madeleine several years ago through Mitchel’s good friend Addie. They have been coworkers, roommates, and good friends for years. We were so excited when Madeleine asked us about photographing her and John’s wedding day. She is truly one of the most fun people so we knew her wedding would be an absolute blast!
On the wedding day, we arrived at the bridal suite and Madeleine and her bridesmaids looked stunning! They popped some Prosecco to get the day started on a fun note, while John and his guys headed over to the Belvedere to participate in a fun Southern Wedding Tradition of digging up a bottle of bourbon that they had buried a month prior.
The tradition of burying the bourbon is to bury a bottle of bourbon upside down a month before your wedding day. Then on the wedding day, the groom digs up the dirt-covered bourbon which is said to bring good weather and no rain! John and his guys shared in taking a drink of the bourbon and had a blast starting the day this way.
Then it was time for a few first looks! Madeleine and her girls were first, they had the sweetest reactions to her in her beautiful dress. Then, Madeleine’s dad had his turn seeing his girl! They were so precious together and his love for her was so evident!
Then Madeleine and John shared a sweet first look in a secret garden just off the back of the historic house. The photo/video team stepped away while they shared private vows and had a moment together before heading to the Belvedere for wedding party photos! It was a blast seeing their wedding party all together before the ceremony began!
Madeleine and John decided to have a unique cocktail hour before their ceremony began. What a fun way to welcome guests and allow them to mingle before the ceremony even began! We loved this idea!
Their ceremony was performed by Madeleine’s cousin Sam and was a heartfelt and sweet time. The sun cast a golden glow over the farm as Madeleine walked down the aisle, looking like a vision in white! There were so many smiles and a few tear as John watched his bride approach! It was beautiful!
After their ceremony there was much celebrating and then we took a few family photos and some photos of the lovely bride and groom before they head into their reception!
Of course, no wedding is complete without a celebration, and Madeleine and John know how to throw a party! From the amazing music from their wedding band, to the wonderful food by Holmes Catering, and the most yummy cake, their reception was a night to remember! A special surprise for their family members was having the Clemson Tiger Cub come during the reception, which was a fun treat!
They were so glad the rain held off the entire day until dinner time, when the sky let loose! Seems like that bourbon did its job keeping away the rain until we were all under the covered awning and tent!
As the night came to a close, we celebrated with sparklers in the rain! Madeleine and John’s wedding day had been everything they’d hoped for and more! After sparklers, they continued to celebrate with a happily ever after party!
So here’s to Madeleine and John, may your love continue to bloom and may your days be filled with joy, laughter, and plenty of adventures. Cheers to the happy couple!
