Welcome to the blog. Here you're going to find everything from heart-warming marriage stories, to beautiful images of our clients. We want to invite you into our lives.
Summer is a great time! Remember the days of being out of school, waking up late, and staying up late. Well, as an adult, it’s nothing like those days. With a job, summertime means the days are the same, except it’s hotter – okay, that’s a little overboard, but you get the picture.
Katie and I have been married for three whole years now (crazy, right?) and we have been on some pretty fun vacations. We got to do something super special this year. We headed out to Nashville for a fun, family trip with Katie’s family. We got to see some country music history, go to several concerts, and eat some delicious food.
But here is the thing, we don’t do big vacations often. We normally don’t want to drop a ton of money to go on lots of get-a-ways. Luckily, there are TONS of vacation options that aren’t going to break your bank account. Because we understand the importance of a budget, we wanted to share some more affordable vacation ideas.
Who says you have to go out of town to relax? You can easily take a couple of days off of work and explore your town!
For people local to Greenville, here are some ideas: go to a Greenville Drive baseball game and eat at a restaurant you’ve been meaning to try like Roost, followed up by rolled ice-cream at Creme Shack on Main Street. Then stay at a Bed and Breakfast such as the Swamp Rabbit Inn where a one night room rental ranges from $85-$200. Or if you’re feeling more traditional, stay for a night at the historic Bleckley Inn in Anderson.
Do all of the fun things in your city you have been meaning to do. Sit on your front porch, lay by a pool. Do whatever it is you enjoy and relax on your couch!
The great part about where we live (Anderson) is it’s really close to A LOT of great places! We have Lake Hartwell and Lake Keowee right in our backyard and we are in the Foothills of the Blue Ridge Mountains. We can be in Columbia, Atlanta, Charlotte, or Asheville in 2 hours. We can hop in the car in the morning and enjoy all of the fun daytime festivities such as hiking, kayaking, and site-seeing and still make it back to our bed at night.
We highly recommend pulling up a map, finding a city nearby, and just driving (with good car tunes, of course)!
The days of having a hotel as your only option for lodging are long gone. The massive price tags are gone as well! It’s easy to find quaint little places to stay.
The best part of AirBNBs are that they are all unique. You will always have a different experience. We’ve stayed in several, and we have LOVED every single one. From the Nashville, to the mountains of Upstate South Carolina, to a one bedroom bay-front suite in Charleston, the options are endless.
We think it’s really important to remember that you don’t have to spend a fortune to have fun with your spouse. We firmly believe in being wise with your money, but we also know how important little get-aways can be, too!
