A Summer Avenue Wedding | Avenue Downtown Greenville

Kirsten and Chad were married June 10, 2023 at Avenue in Downtown Greenville, SC. They met in Iowa when they were both completing graduate work at the University of Iowa. Kirsten is from Chicago and Chad is from Ohio. 

Kirsten and Chad are such an amazing couple! They are both such busy, successful people in their medical fields of expertise. Kirsten is an orthodontist with her own practice, Frazier Orthodontics. Chad is a cardiologist with Prisma Health. They both love to exercise and run, and excel at that, too!

They got engaged on May 28 of last year, my birthday! 🙂 Chad proposed at their new home, which is so lovely and such a special place for them.

I first got to meet Kirsten and Chad for their engagement photos back in the Fall of last year. We walked all around Falls Park in Downtown Greenville and I so enjoyed getting to know them more while hearing all about their wedding day plans.

Kirsten & Chad’s Wedding Day at Avenue

On their wedding day, Kirsten and Chad were so sweet together. They were both calm and happy. Kirsten got ready with her bridesmaids and mom at her home while they had hair and makeup done. During their first look, Kirsten and Chad were so happy to see each other. They shared a few moments together and then we spent a little while taking some portraits of them out front of Avenue. 

Then their wedding party joined us for a few photos and laughs before the ceremony. 

At their ceremony, their friend and soon to be brother in law walked down the aisle with a cardboard cutout of Brutus, their beloved rescue dog, before Kirsten walked down the aisle with her dad. Brutus was Chad’s late father’s dog, so he is so special to Chad and Kirsten, and why Chad was hopeful that they could have him be a part of their ceremony. Kirsten’s surprise with the Brutus cutout was so thoughtful and fun!

Their close friend, and Kirsten’s cohort from dental school, officiated their ceremony, which was so heartfelt and sweet. 

So many of their family and friends traveled from all around the US to join them on their special day. They are so loved by many! It was a hot, but beautiful wedding ceremony on Avenue’s rooftop. 

The reception was so fun, with lots of great music and dancing, and wonderful food. One of our favorite DJ’s Shawn, of Jumping Jukebox kept the party going all night. Kirsten danced with her father, Chad shared a sweet dance with both of his sisters, a good friend of Chad’s shared a speech, and Kirsten’s sisters tag-teamed a sweet and funny speech.
