I loved getting to finally meet Katelyn and John for their engagement session. We decided to meet at the Clemson Botanical Gardens on a wintery and chilly Friday afternoon in January. Luckily, you’d never know it was the dead of Winter, because the gardens have so much variety and evergreen plants all around. It’s truly one of my favorite places for that reason, it’s great all year long!

Katelyn and John were happy to go with the flow on posing and locations around the botanical gardens, which made me feel so at ease and the whole experience so fun! They’ve been together for several years now and are so comfortable with each other, so it made photos effortless! Katelyn looked so happy and has the best smile. I love the way that she and John look at each other. They’re so precious together and seeing them together made me even more excited for their wedding day in April!

Some of my favorite spots at the botanical gardens that we shot at are:

1. At the front under the brick pergola, the backlighting is just my favorite and the light gray sidewalk is a great reflector
2. The wooded area with stone pathway- it’s so dreamy and also has pretty backlighting in the evening 
3. Over near the visitor’s center – lots of pretty areas with greenery and brick 
4. An area back toward the front of the botanical gardens that has some tall, dead grass that makes for some perfect shots

I can’t wait for Katelyn and John to get married at Evergreen Plantation this Spring! It’s been a while since we have photographed out there and we always love it so much!
