An August Celebration at Heyward Manor
On August 23, 2025, Madelyn and John Brockelbank promised forever to each other in a wedding that was every bit as meaningful as it was beautiful. Heyward Manor, with its sweeping lawns and charming white-washed venue tucked among the trees, set the perfect scene for a late-summer celebration.
Madelyn and John first met in Charleston while he was at The Citadel and she was a student at College of Charleston. Even though she ended up transferring schools to USC in Columbia, their love grew even with long distance as a challenge for them.

Standing back-to-back around a corner of the manor, they reached for each other’s hands and shared a few private words before the ceremony. It was a moment full of anticipation and calm—a pause to take it all in before the excitement of the day unfolded.
Everywhere you turned, there were thoughtful details that reflected their love story. The flowers—soft, romantic blooms in shades of ivory and blush—were especially meaningful because they were lovingly arranged by Madelyn’s grandmother and mother. From the heartfelt and God-honoring ceremony at Heyward Manor’s beautiful indoor space, to the laughter echoing through the reception, the entire celebration felt warm and intentional.
