Heyward Manor Summer Wedding | Mr. & Mrs. Brockelbank

An August Celebration at Heyward Manor

On August 23, 2025, Madelyn and John Brockelbank promised forever to each other in a wedding that was every bit as meaningful as it was beautiful. Heyward Manor, with its sweeping lawns and charming white-washed venue tucked among the trees, set the perfect scene for a late-summer celebration.

Madelyn and John first met in Charleston while he was at The Citadel and she was a student at College of Charleston. Even though she ended up transferring schools to USC in Columbia, their love grew even with long distance as a challenge for them.

The Wedding Day

Madelyn and John chose to begin their day with a quiet, heartfelt first touch. Standing back-to-back around a corner of the manor, they reached for each other’s hands and shared a few private words before the ceremony. It was a moment full of anticipation and calm—a pause to take it all in before the excitement of the day unfolded.

Everywhere you turned, there were thoughtful details that reflected their love story. The flowers—soft, romantic blooms in shades of ivory and blush—were especially meaningful because they were lovingly arranged by Madelyn’s grandmother and mother. Their creativity and care added a layer of family tradition that made the day feel even more personal.

From the heartfelt and God-honoring ceremony at Heyward Manor’s beautiful indoor space, to the laughter echoing through the reception, the entire celebration felt warm and intentional. Guests were treated to little surprises and special touches that spoke volumes about the couple’s hearts: the bride dedicating her bouquet to her mother, heartfelt speeches, carefully chosen décor, and music that set the perfect mood as the summer sun dipped low.

As twilight settled over the property, friends and family gathered to toast the newlyweds. It was the perfect ending to a day that overflowed with love, joy, and the kind of moments that become cherished family memories.

Madelyn and John’s wedding at Heyward Manor wasn’t just a beautiful summer celebration—it was a testament to the power of family, tradition, and a love story that will continue to bloom for years to come.
