Foggy Winter Elopement – The Cliffs at Glassy Chapel Wedding Photographer

I was so thrilled to get to photograph, maybe the most magical elopement of the year – Isla and Christopher Brown’s rainy & foggy Winter elopement at The Cliffs at Glassy Chapel on January 25, 2024! They had 13 of their close family members there to witness their union and plan to host a big celebration later on next year.

In a misty mountain setting at Glassy Chapel, Chris and Isla shared their vows, as well as lots of smiles and laughs. I had just met them, but their love is clearly so strong and their day was just perfect. The weather may have been a bit stubborn, but honestly the little rain and fog only added to the dreaminess of their wedding day.

The Cliffs at Glassy Chapel was wrapped in a dreamy veil of fog, truly the most fog I’ve seen on a wedding day in over 10 years of photographing wedding days. It created an almost ethereal backdrop for their “I dos.” Isla wore a beautiful dress with the most perfect bow and Chris looked handsome in a gray suit – these two were the epitome of style and grace. 

The Ceremony

Their ceremony was a sweet time with their close friend officiating. They wrote their own heartfelt vows that left no dry eyes in the room, mine included. I was so inspired by their love for each other that truly reflects Jesus’ love for the Church. 

As the ceremony wrapped up, the happy couple shared a kiss and were full of joy as they came up the aisle of the chapel. 

We took some family photos, and then lots of portraits of the couple inside the venue and out! I had never photographed in this much fog, so it was a fun experience for me! It seems like Glassy Chapel consistently serves me up the most fun and interesting weather. Chris and Isla were up for anything and were so much fun to photograph. 

After portraits, Chris and Isla and their families ventured off to an intimate dinner together in Greenville to celebrate their love.
