Classy, Newberry SC Wedding

Ashley and Lucas were married on June 26 at Ashley’s home church St. Luke’s Lutheran Church in Prosperity, SC. It’s within steps of her mom and step-dad’s home, and their  reception was at Southwind Acres just a few miles away.

Lucas and Ashley are both so much fun, and they are even more amazing as a couple! 

I first got to meet and spend time with Ashley at her bridal portrait session at the State House in downtown Columbia. It was the perfect day. We had to reschedule once because of rain, but I’m so thankful our plan B turned out so well. I could tell that day that she had such a supportive family. Her mom and grandparents were there with her. I can’t wait to share more of her portraits from that day now that she’s married!

The Wedding Day

On the wedding day, we first got to hang out with Ashley and her girls as they got dressed. Lucas hung out with his groomsmen before we took some photos, and he was calm and collected. 

Ashley was also calm, happy, and so joyful. She said she wasn’t nervous at all…until she stepped foot into the church to walk down the aisle, she said it hit her! But no one could tell at all. She was jaw-droopingly gorgeous and her smile lit up the whole room. Lucas was precious as he saw her for the first time, holding his face, covering his eyes, and getting emotional. 

I sensed a sigh of relief from both of them as they were finally together at the front of the church.

Before the ceremony, we took portraits on her parents property, just across from the church. How special to have been able to use that tree-lined spot at the home she grew up at. It really was a perfect, shady spot filled with greenery.
