Prince of Peace Catholic Church and Cannon Centre Wedding

Paul and Claire were married at Prince of Peace Catholic Church in Taylors, SC. They had a beautiful reception at the Cannon Centre in Greer City Park.

The church was breath-taking (as you’ll see), with some of the most incredible front doors you’ll ever see on a church. It reminded Mitchel and I so much of the cathedrals in Italy when we visited this past Spring.

During the reception, we heard the best “how did they meet story ever” from Claire’s younger brother. Paul was Claire’s brothers football coach. One day she took him to practice and said “who in the world is that?!” On the ride home from football practice, Claire said, “you’ve got to help me out with him!” and her younger brother thought, “Mom has to take me to school from now on.”

Even though Paul didn’t know it at the time, Claire had her eyes on him, and it was only a matter of time before they were a couple. She loved to see how it was interacting with the players and how he cared.

Everything we kept hearing about Paul on the wedding day was about how involved he was in the church and how kind he was to everyone he meets.

After spending several hours with the couple, it’s easy to see why everyone loves them. The kindness and love they show was clear from the start. Even on their wedding day, when everything is supposed to be about them, they were so concerned about everyone else.

At the reception during speeches, Paul’s mom had some of his friends from middle school and his college teammates step up. There were dozens of people there to support him. How many people have that many lifelong friends at their wedding after all those years? That shows just what kind of person Paul is.

The wedding day was full of fun from the beginning! We got to the reception venue where all of the girls were getting ready, and they were so funny! It’s so fun to see sisters and friends dancing and laughing as they get ready. Claire was all smiles!

One of my favorite details of Claire’s were her Rothy’s! Anyone who sees me regularly knows I have on my Rothy’s at almost every wedding and in everyday life! Claire wore hers with her gown and they were perfect!

Once the girls were ready, they loaded up in the party bus and headed to the church. Paul and Claire took time alone together to say a prayer and open letters before the ceremony, and it was a precious moment.

The weather was just a tad cold and windy, but Paul and Claire were such troopers! They stuck it out while we did portraits and bridal party portraits and they laughed and smiled the whole time! They never complained.

Right after the daddy/daughter dance, Claire had something SO SPECIAL planned. When her older sister got married a few years ago, her dad wasn’t able to dance with her because of an allergic reaction. Claire wanted to recreate this moment the two of them never got to have.

She previously told the band to make a special announcement – her dad was finally going to get to dance with his older daughter. It was one of the most thoughtful gestures we’ve ever seen at a reception.

The reception was a BLAST! The dance floor was crowded the whole time, and Paul and Claire always seemed to be right in the middle of it.

On the way home, Mitchel and I just talked about how incredible of a couple Claire and Paul are. We can’t get over these photos, but the couple themselves is even more impressive. We wish them nothing but the best on their honeymoon of a lifetime to Italy and Greece!
