The Katie Jaynes Photography Wedding Experience

Our Process, From Miss To Mrs. – And Beyond!

What Does It Mean to Have A Full Service Wedding Photographer?

Unless you’ve booked a wedding photographer before, you probably have no idea what to expect. That’s okay!

Before you pick a photographer, you want to know what to expect. You shouldn’t have to make an invest not knowing what you’re getting into. That’s why we wrote this blog post. We wanted every couple to know what each step of the Katie Jaynes wedding journey looks like.

1. Wedding Pre-Booking

Inquire via contact form with wedding date, location, and any other info you want to give us!

I’ll follow-up with you within 24 hours with information about our work, pricing, and any other questions you have for us! We can also send over a sample wedding gallery so that you can see our work on a wedding day and the ease of downloading images online!

Once we decide that we are a great fit for each other, we will send over a booking proposal to you to look over. It’s an easy 3 step process. Click “accept” on the quote if it all looks good to you, read over and digitally sign the contract, pay a 25% retainer fee to reserve your date!

2. Then we are officially official!

Within a few weeks, you’ll get a fun package in the mail from us! It will contain our 80 page Wedding Experience Guide Magazine AND our brand new Groom’s Guide Booklet! These are gifts for you as you begin to plan and prepare for your wedding!

Everything from how to prepare for your engagement session, to what details to bring on the wedding day, creating your wedding day timeline, and family photo ideas are included in this magazine!

3. Your Engagement Session

Next, we will schedule your engagement session! This is a time where you and your fiancé get to become pros at taking photos and getting comfortable with us!

We will teach you everything you need to know and it’s completely low-key! Before your session, we will help make sure you feel comfortable with your outfit choices and help answer any questions you have.

After your session, you’ll receive a sneak peek within 24 hours and your full engagement gallery within 2 weeks! You’ll also be featured on our blog as a way for us to celebrate you! We also offer custom engagement photo-albums that you can use as your guest book at your ceremony or reception.

4. Your Bridal Portrait Session

If you have chosen a collection that includes bridal portraits, we will schedule those anytime up until 4 weeks before the wedding day. This is a time for you to not only get some great photos of you in your favorite dress ever, but also a great test-drive of your wedding day look!

We will choose a location that you love, whether your wedding venue, or somewhere else special to you, and you’ll spend an hour or so with your Maid of Honor or Momma, or both, twirling in your gown!

This is also a great time to test out your hair and makeup if you haven’t already, and to get a trial bouquet from your florist. That way, after bridals you can tweak anything that needs to be perfected for your wedding day.

Your gallery will be delivered within 2-3 weeks and then you will choose one for me to print for you! You’ll receive a complimentary 16×20 inch print to get framed, and we also offer mini-albums that you can gift your groom during your first look on the wedding day. (Or later if you choose!)

5. 8 Weeks Before Your Wedding Day

You will receive an emailed questionnaire to fill out and send back to us. This will help us be as prepared as possible when we show up to photograph your day. We will also gather information from this questionnaire to create your custom photography timeline for your wedding day.

Things like ceremony start-time, first look or no first look, arrival time at getting ready spot, exit time from reception will help us make the most of the time you have us on your big day.

We will ask names and contact info for vendors so that we can introduce ourselves and share our photos with them after your big day.

6. Your Wedding Day

We will show up on your wedding day as friends by this point, with big smiles ready to help however we can! We will help keep you on track timeline wise and will be flexible to your needs. Obviously we are going to take great photos along the way. YOU and your day are our priority and focus!

You’ll receive a sneak peek by the end of your wedding night and then will be featured on the blog the following Tuesday, with a written summary of your beautiful story and wedding day. Then you’ll receive your full gallery of wedding photos within 3-4 weeks. Yay!

7. Your Wedding Album

If your collection includes an heirloom wedding album, or you’d like to add one, we will begin the initial stages of designing it for you once your wedding images are finished.

I will create a draft with hand selected images, send it to you for changes or notes, make those changes, send back to you for final approval, and then within 8-10 weeks from your wedding day, your custom album will be at your doorstep.

Wedding albums are so great because they are your very first family heirloom! We love it when couples decided they want an album because they are so so special.

Throughout the entire process with us, be prepared to be celebrated and to receive gifts randomly along the journey! We LOVE celebrating our couples and can’t wait for your turn to be a KJP couple!

The Whole Wedding Photographer Process

And that’s what it looks like to be a Katie Jaynes wedding couple from start to finish. We pride ourselves on being with our couples every step of the way. From the moment we first talk to LONG after the wedding day and we deliver your photos.

For us, it’s more than just photography. It’s a friendship.
