But there is something about Bleckley Station that makes it feel entirely its own. It is equal parts industrial-cool, Southern charm, and straight-up jaw-dropping — and I cannot wait to tell you everything about it.

First, A Little History (Because This Story Is SO Good)
Before it became one of the most stunning event spaces in downtown Anderson, 310 South Main Street had a long and colorful life. The address had been home to a grocery store, a tire store, and a furniture store over the past 100 years — until those businesses left and a series of unfulfilled dreams turned the once-vibrant block into a vacant lot.
But here’s where the story gets good. The most appealing feature left on the vacant lot was a graffiti monster by renowned artist Patch Whiskey — and spoiler alert, that colorful pastel monster is still there today, incorporated right into the venue’s identity. I love that so much. It’s so Anderson.
The vision of Steve Kay was to create a space where up to 500 people could gather for celebrations of life, designed to honor the architectural features of the old Penn Station in New York City. And honestly? He pulled it off beautifully. Bleckley Station has made 310 South Main Street matter again, and our whole city is better for it.
What Does Bleckley Station Actually Look Like?
Let me paint you a picture, because photos honestly don’t fully do it justice until you’re standing inside.
This 10,000-square-foot space features a soaring skylight, exposed trusses, reclaimed brick walls, and theatre curtains that can be used to subdivide the room and create more intimate settings. As a photographer, I could cry — the natural light that pours through that skylight is chef’s kiss. Reclaimed brick, a 1914 cornerstone, and cast iron vents were all salvaged and used in the new construction, which means every inch of this place has texture, character, and history baked right into it.
Between the exposed brick walls, natural skylight, and architectural design, this place literally takes your breath away upon entering. That’s not just me talking — that’s straight from another photographer who shot here and couldn’t stop raving about it. The lines, the angles, the light. It is a dream to shoot in.
The venue is located right in the heart of downtown Anderson, next door to The Fox Restaurant, and the convenient location enhances its appeal, providing easy access to downtown Anderson’s vibrant atmosphere, including nearby restaurants and shops. Out-of-town guests will love being able to walk around our sweet downtown before and after the celebration.
How Many Guests Can It Hold?
This is one of the things that really sets Bleckley Station apart from other Upstate venues. This 10,000 square foot space modeled after the original Penn Station has 45-foot ceilings with a skylight and can be subdivided using theatre curtains — and it’s best suited for 200 to 500 guests. For larger weddings especially, venues that can accommodate that kind of guest count with style are genuinely hard to come by around here.
The room can be subdivided into sections for your ceremony, cocktail hour, and reception, which means you can do your entire wedding day under one gorgeous roof. No shuttles, no venue hopping, no worrying about the South Carolina weather. Just one beautiful space that flows from one moment to the next.
What’s Included?
The venue includes tables and chairs in the rental fee, along with complimentary wireless internet. There’s plenty of parking for guests, and the space is fully wheelchair accessible. The caterer of your choice will have access to a preparation kitchen which includes a refrigerator, ice machine, dishwasher, and sink — with ovens and cooktops available for an additional fee.
The rental typically includes Friday access for setup, the event on Saturday (with an 11pm curfew), and Sunday morning access for cleanup, as well as use of both the main level and second floor, plus dressing suites and a VIP room for getting ready and overnight stays. Having that getting-ready space on-site is such a huge bonus — it makes the morning of your wedding so much more relaxed and intentional. (And as your photographer, I love getting ready spaces that have great light and a little personality!)
Pricing runs roughly $5,000–$8,000 for wedding events, which for the size and beauty of the space is genuinely competitive with other Upstate venues.
