Glassy Chapel and Southwind Ranch Summer Wedding | Mr. & Mrs. Gillespie

Colorful Summer Wedding | Travelers Rest Mountain Wedding

Amy and Matthew were married on Sunday, May 26, 2024. They had a lovely ceremony at The Cliffs at Glassy Chapel and a beautiful reception at South Wind Ranch in Travelers Rest.

Amy and Matthew graduated from UNC Chapel Hill together. Matthew proposed to Amy in a beautiful flower garden on campus. We loved hearing about this sweet moment from Amy when we first chatted about their wedding day!

The Wedding Day at Glassy Mountain Chapel

It was a beautiful day for Matthew and Amy’s wedding! There’s something magical about tying the knot amidst the warmth and sunshine, and the wedding of Matthew Gillespie and Amy Lawson was no exception. If you’re a fan of breathtaking views, sentimental touches, and lively celebrations, then you’ll love hearing about this unforgettable day!

The ceremony took place at the enchanting Glassy Mountain Chapel. Nestled on top of a mountain with panoramic views, it was as if the heavens themselves were smiling down on Matthew and Amy. The chapel, with its charm and floor-to-ceiling windows, provided the perfect backdrop for their vows. Imagine standing at the altar, surrounded by loved ones, with the vast, beautiful expanse of nature stretching out behind you. Pure magic!

Amy’s dress was the epitome of “something old” and “something borrowed.” She wore her mom’s wedding dress from 1996, a beautiful dress that held decades of memories. As if that wasn’t touching enough, she also wore her older sister’s veil.

The Reception at South Wind Ranch

After the heartfelt ceremony, it was time to celebrate at South Wind Ranch. This venue, with its sprawling grounds and charming rustic details, was perfect for an evening of joy and laughter. The Residents Band provided the entertainment for the night, and let me tell you, they did not disappoint! They had everyone on their feet, from the first dance to the last. The energy was infectious, and the dance floor was never empty. If you ever need a band that knows how to keep the party going, The Residents Band is the one.

What made this wedding truly special were the personal touches that Matthew and Amy included. From the family heirlooms in Amy’s attire to the amazing florals and beautiful color scheme at the reception, everything was imbued with love and thoughtfulness. Guests enjoyed a delicious meal, heartfelt toasts, and lots of laughs and a few tears.

Happily Ever After

Amy and Matthew’s wedding was not just a celebration of their love but a beautiful reminder of the importance of family, tradition, and making new memories together.

Congratulations, Matthew and Amy! Here’s to a lifetime of love, laughter, and countless more beautiful memories. Cheers to the happy couple!
