Anderson, SC Summer, Blush & Black Tie Wedding

Amber Johnson and Adam Chandler were married at Heyward Manor in Iva, SC. We just love this venue! It was the perfect day!

Adam and Amber met years ago while shagging at Clemson with some friends. Adam went to Anderson University and Amber was a Clemson student at the time. He asked her to dance. He said he didn’t really know what to say to her, but definitely wanted to talk to her, so instead, he asked her to shag. She said she didn’t really know how, so he taught her how to shag, and the rest is history! It was so sweet seeing their first dance at their wedding after knowing dancing is how they met!

I loved getting to hang out with them for their engagement session last Fall. They were so much fun to be around which got me so excited for their wedding day!

The Wedding Day

Amber and Adam were both all smiles and super relaxed on their wedding day! They waited to see each other until Amber came down the aisle. 

Amber and her girls got ready at an Airbnb on the lake and then once they arrived at Heyward, they hung out together in the beautiful bridal suite. Amber’s mom had a robe made for Amber that was made from her wedding dress! How thoughtful and what a sweet keepsake for her to have!

Amber, her mom, and soon-to-be mother-in-law helped Amber into her dress and with final touches. Her mother-in-law gave her a bracelet to wear for her “something borrowed”, which was super sweet and sentimental.

Then Amber came downstairs for the big reveal to her girls! They had the best reactions to her coming downstairs. Such a sweet bunch! After that, Amber and her dad shared a first look, full of smiles and tears and hugs. I always love seeing brides take a moment with their dads like this!

Watching Adam see his bride for the first time was precious! Their ceremony was down at the pond in a beautiful shady spot with lots of trees and hydrangeas around. Amber took the long walk down the aisle with her dad, from back behind some trees. She looked so so beautiful and Adam smiled through tears when he saw her.

We had some of the most beautiful hydrangea blooms for some portraits before heading into the reception. Truly a dream! A few months back, we took Amber’s bridal portraits and there were tons of blooms then, too! I’ll have to share those later because she looked fabulous!

The Reception

Their reception was an absolute blast with a live band Oxford Soul, the most beautiful decor and florals by Renee Burroughs Design, the best food by Sullivan’s Catering, and cake by Holly’s Cakes. Just the best dream team of vendors! (See full vendor list below!)
