A Hollow at Paris Mountain Fall Wedding

Kara & Hal were married October 2, 2021 in Greenville, SC at The Hollow at Paris Mountain venue. The venue is on the property where the owners live, just a few minutes from Paris Mountain State Park.

They met several years ago at a wing place and Kara made fun of Hal because he ordered boneless wings. I loved hearing this story again at the reception. They just make me laugh! Hal went home and told his brothers about her approving of his boneless wing choice — the brothers weren’t so sure about her at first (don’t worry, they really like Kara now!)

We met them last year at their engagement session at Sassafras Mountain. We had the best time talking, laughing, and hearing more of their love story!

Not only were they a sweet couple, but they were such troopers to go trekking through the mountain paths with us and they were up for anything!

Hal and Kara perfectly compliment one another! They are fun loving and so supportive of each other.

Their Wedding Day

On the wedding day, Kara was all smiles and looked so calm as she and her girls got ready. She was filled with emotion as she did a reveal with her bridesmaids and then later with Hal.

Kara thought of all the perfect surprises for Hal. First, she had a cigar bar waiting for Hal and his groomsmen once they arrived. She also had a humidor for Hal as a gift. He was blown away by her thought and sweet gifts.

We’ve never seen a bride surprise a groom with a whole cigar bar, but all of the groomsmen loved it and it was the perfect way for them to kick off the wedding day – and then the guests enjoyed it during the reception. Such a cute and clever touch.

Hal surprised Kara after their wedding party portraits with a beautiful, engraved wooden piece and beautiful pearl earrings.

The sweet couple decided to do a first touch while reading letters and promises to each other, and then afterwards, they did a full first look reveal where they got to see each other! We have never had a couple do both of these, usually just one or the other, but we liked the idea so much!

Hal was ready to see his bride at their first look and he was overwhelmed with joy and emotion once he saw her. They embraced, cried, smiled, and talked a while and then Kara had another surprise for Hal… she had someone bring their two dogs to the venue so that they could get a photo with all four of them! So sweet!

After the first look, we took wedding party portraits with the most beautiful tree-lined backdrop. Some of the trees were even beginning to change into Fall colors. Then we took some portraits of Kara and Hal, just minutes before they were to be married.

Their ceremony was sweet and personable, and Kara’s little nephew cracked us up as he ran to play in the woods, mid-ceremony. He was adorable!

Their reception was a fun time with lots of dancing, tacos, margaritas, and fun! The Hallow at Paris Mountain is a great venue for reception parties, with plenty of outdoor space for guests to dance, eat, and mingle (or smoke a cigar).

This was our first wedding shooting together again as a husband in wife in several months and it was an excellent way to kick off the busy wedding season for us. We had so much fun. Every wedding is so special, but this couple was just top notch in every way! Truly a dream!
