Welcome to the blog. Here you're going to find everything from heart-warming marriage stories, to beautiful images of our clients. We want to invite you into our lives.
We are always so excited whenever we get the opportunity to photograph at a new wedding venue. We have so many venues that we ADORE, but it’s always a joy to photograph a new spot.
A few weeks ago, I was fortunate enough to photograph my first wedding at Tin Roof Farms in Saluda, SC.
Unless you live nearby, you may not have heard of Saluda. If you haven’t, allow us to give you a quick tour of the city that could be home to your wedding venue.
As you may have guessed, Saluda is a small town that’s only about 3 square miles. If you’re dreaming of a quaint small town to get married, look no further than Tin Roof in Saluda. The town runs along the Saluda river (hence the name) and is not a far drive from Lexington, Newberry, and Columbia.
If you have guests coming from all across the state, Saluda is a good central point with plenty of close cities. Additionally, that means you won’t struggle to find vendors that operate in Saluda.
One thing to consider is lodging for any guests coming rom out of town. One downside to a small town like Saluda is not a lot of hotel options close by, so if you have dozens of out-of-town guests, be sure they will have a place to stay without driving hours on the wedding day.
There are so many things to love about this venue, it’s hard to capture all of them in one post. First, let’s talk about this history of Tin Roof Farms. It’s one of the newest venues that we’ve had the pleasure of shooting at.
“Established in 2018, Tin Roof Farms occupies 75 acres of elegance and southern charm. Located in the rural outskirts of the small town of Saluda, it is just a short drive for a destination wedding atmosphere of quiet, serenity, peacefulness that can’t be found just anywhere in South Carolina.”
One thing we’ve LOVED while learning more about the space is the “WHY.” You can tell by how the place is ran and how they care for their couples that it’s more than just a space. For them, it’s a mission.
“Our faith-forward venue and business is a direct reflection of our family values. We lead with our personal beliefs, convictions and ethics—honoring God and His biblical principles—in everything we do. Tin Roof Farms is an oasis for celebration, renewal and growth embodying hope and joy.”
Fist and foremost is the ceremony spot. The chapel they have on the grounds is breathtaking. Between the trees and the chapel, it looks like a fairy tale wedding.
As photographers, lighting and backgrounds are VERY important to use and ceremonies under the trees in front of the chapel is stunning and it’s one of the major reasons love this venue.
Obviously the ceremony spot is as huge part of the wedding day, but that’s not the only amazing thing about Tin Roof Farms. If you’re worried about having the best reception, look no further.
The Reception Barn is not only pretty, but has plenty of space for food, music, and dancing. The last thing you want is to have your guests crammed into a tiny reception hall. Not only does it not give room to dance and mingle, but guests tend to leave sooner when they don’t have space to move around.
