Get ready to fall in love with your perfect wedding day!
If you didn’t know, we love Anderson, SC. It’s the place we’ve come to call home. We met here, we went to college here, and we bought our first home here.
One of the few things we love more than Anderson is the couples we serve. Because we love them so much, we want to make the wedding planning process as fun and simple as possible for brides and their soon-to-be grooms.
We love brides and we love Anderson, so we want to combine those two loves by offering a listing of some well-known venues, as well as some hidden gems in and near Anderson County.
To help out all the engaged couples out there, we’ve done some of the work for you. We want your day to be as special as possible, and that starts with the perfect venue.
Another newer venue in the Anderson Area, Heyward Manor quickly became one of the go-to venues for Anderson county. Just in the past 2 years, I’ve been to Heyward for several engagement sessions, bridal sessions and weddings – and each session looks so different.
Heyward Manor, a stunning event space nestled in the heart of Upstate South Carolina, offers a captivating blend of modern elegance and Southern charm. Situated on over 900 acres of a tree nursery, the manor overlooks a serene lake, creating a tranquil and picturesque setting for unforgettable weddings.
The venue itself is a masterpiece of design, featuring a spacious interior with floor-to-ceiling windows that bathe the space in natural light. Its clean lines and whitewashed walls provide a versatile canvas for couples to personalize their wedding aesthetic. The manor’s capacity to accommodate up to 400 guests ensures ample room for celebrations of all sizes.
Beyond the main event space, Heyward Manor offers a luxurious bridal suite and a groom’s suite, providing comfort and privacy for the wedding party. The expansive grounds feature multiple ceremony and reception options, allowing couples to tailor their wedding day to their exact vision.
With its breathtaking lake views, lush greenery, and elegant architecture, Heyward Manor is a truly exceptional venue that promises to create a magical and unforgettable experience for couples and their guests.
The Venue at Edgewood is one of the few venues in Anderson County we haven’t photographed yet, but we REALLY HOPE we have the chance soon. All of the pictures we’ve seen look stunning and the property has so many perfect portrait spots.
According to the Venue at Edgewood website, they have a variety of different pre-made packages depending on how many days you’ll need the venue for. They have a traditional package for a Friday to Saturday wedding or if you want the property for longer, you can rent the space for Thursday through Saturday.
The property consists of a custom crafted hemlock barn which accommodates 250 people with 7279 sq ft of heated and cooled space. The property offers stunning views and ample room to spread out. In addition to the event space, there are two custom cottages for rent, built with the bride and groom in mind, an amphitheater that seats approximately 200 with power outlets and coming soon an intimate custom chapel at the waterfront which seats approximately 60 people with beautiful walking trails winding throughout the property and along the waterfront. Great care was taken in the landscape design throughout with beautiful accents complimenting all corners of the property.
What we really like about Edgewood is they have several places for the ceremony. Not only does this give options but also has a built-in backup plan if it happens to rain.
Downtown Anderson, SC Historic Wedding Venue
We just adored photographing at the Bleckley Inn over the past few years.
Through the years, we’ve photographed several events at the Bleckley Inn, from corporate events, weddings, and even the “Best Of Anderson” awards. We have loved every one of them!
The Bleckley is a historic figure in Anderson. You can ask anyone from Anderson, and they will tell you about the historic beauty of the Inn.
One of the best things about the Bleckley Inn is any of your guests who come in from out of town can stay right there in the Inn in beautiful Downtown Anderson.
In fact, it’s one of the best venues for anyone who has a lot of guests coming from far away. All they have to do is walk down the stairs, and they are at the wedding!
Inside of the Bleckley Inn, they have the Carriage Room. According to the website, it can seat up to 400 people! They also do catering in-house.
We could try and tell you all the different things about Evergreen Plantation, but we think they did an excellent job of doing it themselves,
“This 10,000+ square foot building is the ideal place to dance the evening away. As the grand doors open, the guests are welcomed by the remains of a 150-year-old Walnut Tree.
In its second life, the tree centers the entryway and leads everyone into the grand banquet room of the Lodge. The dance floor sits beneath the Scottish Chandelier and towering stone fireplace.
Complete with a sound system and stage, any band could lead a most perfect waltz all the while onlookers watch from the balcony. The Lodge is completed with a chef’s dream commercial kitchen, the place to prepare a delicious meal.”
One thing that really sets them apart is their grand piano. You can have someone playing while guests arrive!
The Oaks Wedding Venue has just about anything you could want from an outdoor wedding venue! Beautiful scenery, giant trees, and a pond!
The Oaks is the perfect spot for a fall or spring wedding (summer in the South get’s a little toasty!)
Rocky River Plantation, nestled in the heart of Anderson, South Carolina, offers an enchanting backdrop for unforgettable weddings. This historic estate, boasting over 62 acres of rolling countryside, exudes Southern charm and elegance.
The plantation’s centerpiece is a magnificent colonial-style home, adorned with grand columns, a wraparound porch, and timeless architectural details. Inside, the spacious rooms with crystal chandeliers and pine floors create an atmosphere of refined sophistication. The exterior is equally captivating, framed by towering oak trees and lush greenery, providing an idyllic setting for outdoor ceremonies.
For couples seeking a more rustic ambiance, the Bootlegger Barn offers a unique and charming alternative. This converted barn features exposed beams, brick accents, and a spacious interior perfect for receptions. Surrounded by the plantation’s natural beauty, the barn creates a warm and inviting atmosphere for celebrations.
Beyond the main house and barn, the property boasts the picturesque Taylor Garden, a serene oasis adorned with blooming flowers and lush landscapes. This idyllic spot offers endless possibilities for romantic ceremonies, cocktail hours, or simply enjoying the beauty of the surroundings.
Rocky River Plantation is more than just a venue; it’s a destination that allows couples to create lasting memories.
Whether you envision a grand celebration or an intimate gathering, this historic estate provides the perfect canvas for your dream wedding.
We hope you were able to find the perfect venue from our list! We spent a lot of time putting this together. Why did we do it? Because we love our couples. We want to make the process as simple and special as possible. We know how difficult it can be to find the perfect venue.
