4 Gift Ideas for Engaged Couples

Christmas is almost here! AH! Just one week! It’s crazy how quickly the holidays creep up on us. It seems like every year, it goes faster and faster.

We’ve finished all of our shopping, hopefully, you have to. We know how crazy it can be trying to buy for EVERYONE on your shopping list.

I mean, who in the world knows what your sister’s husband wants or what to buy for your in-laws. Hopefully, buying gifts doesn’t create too much stress or take the joy out of the holidays for you, but maybe we can help (sorry, we don’t know what to get for your in-laws).

If you’re celebrating the holidays as an engaged man or woman, then we think we can help you out! OR, if you have someone you love who is engaged, we’ve got a couple of gift ideas.

Engaged couples get a lot of presents. It’s one of the best parts of being engaged (kidding!). Between the engagement parties and all of the wedding gifts, they will end up with a bunch of things they may not need.

Here is our list of things we think engaged couples will actually enjoy and use.

1. Ring Cleaner

What better gift for the engaged woman than to keep her new bling sparkly! Getting my own ring cleaner was one of the best decisions I ever made and (when I remember) I sometimes gift it to our new brides.

As hard as I try, I can’t keep my engagement ring sparkly clean all the time. You don’t realize how dull a ring is until you clean it. Buying a ring cleaning kit is the great last-minute stocking stuffer for the woman still getting used to having that pretty ring on her hand.

I use my ring cleaner ALL the time, and I love it every single time. It’s one of the most useful and practical things Mitchel has gotten me.

2. Picture Frames!

Between the engagement session, the wedding pictures, and all the pictures at the holidays, the engaged couple is going to have A LOT of pictures.

Picture frames can be a practical and fun gift. As photographers, we gift a ton of pictures of every year (we hate for people not to print photos), and we always go to stores like TJ Maxx and Marshalls for all of our pictures frames. They have cute and classy frames at affordable prices.

If you want to do something extra special, you can always buy a large printed photo from an engagement session and have it professionally framed. It’s going to be more expensive, but having a large printed photo in a frame is a touching gift. We know a great custom framer here in downtown Anderson – Indigo Framing.

Another option is to get a digital picture frame. They can be a bit more expensive, but it makes it so simple to change out pictures. There are plenty out there to choose from, I’m sure you can find one you like.

3. Personalized Cutting Board

Now, this is something we got when we were engaged, and we loved the look of it. Of course, the engaged couple PROBABLY won’t actually use the cutting board, but it’s so exciting to see something with your new shared last name on it. They could even hang it on a wall to display.

There are tons of people on Etsy selling personalized cutting boards. You can choose a dozen different sizes, fonts, colors, and so much more. You can even get state shaped cutting boards. It’s a simple gift.

4. Date Night Box

Being engaged is a lot of fun! We tell everyone who is engaged to stop and try and enjoy this time. It’s exciting to plan a wedding and think about the rest of your life together. The problem is – planning a wedding can be stressful and takes a lot of time.

If you are still looking for an extra something to get that engaged couple in your life, why not put together a date night set.

First, you need to decide what the couple or your significant other, would love doing together. This is the hardest part.

If you aren’t sure what to put together, you can always go with a trusty “Movie Night Date Box” – which is one of our personal favorites.

Here’s what you need:

  1. One basket/box/container to put everything in. For example, if you’re wanting to do the movie night box, find a large popcorn tub (you know, like the ones you pay $20 for at the movie theater. This tub is going to be your container.
  2. Next, you have to fill it. This is the fun part. Start by going to the dollar store and getting A LOT of candy. All of the movie theater classics, and make sure you get one or two for yourself. 😉
  3. The next step is to get actually popcorn and soda to put in there. Try and find their favorite soda if you know it! Put a bottle or two in your popcorn bucket.
  4. Now the snacks are done, you need a movie to watch! There are a couple of great options. You can buy a gift card to a local movie theater or a Redbox gift card. This lets the couple pick out a movie for themselves.

The other option is to go buy a cheap movie at Walmart or a thrift store. Personally, I think this way is more fun.

We hope this is helpful for any last minute Christmas gifts for your favorite engaged folks!
