Downtown Greenville Wedding | Mr. & Mrs. Arnold

Grace Church Downtown Greenville and Revel Event Center Wedding

Alyssa and Sam were married in Greenville, SC at Grace Church Downtown! Grace’s downtown campus is just beautiful. It has the beautiful traditional column and tons of beautiful steps (I’ve wanted to shoot a wedding here for SO long. Thanks Alyssa!).

We have gotten to know Alyssa over the past few years leading worship and serving together in student ministry at church at Grace Anderson. It’s so clear that Alyssa is SO loved by her middle school girls!

Alyssa and Sam met back in the Summer of 2018 when Alyssa was a marketing intern at Sam’s work. They worked together for a few months, but Alyssa said Sam wasn’t in the office much.

To get to know the new intern, Sam took Alyssa on a tour of one of the build sites, basically to look at some piles of dirt. He finally asked her out in August!

Alyssa and Sam are so much fun! Their love for Jesus, Clemson, and each other is so evident! 😉 Seeing how these two interact and love each other is one of the most precious things, and we’ve been so blessed to see that at church and on their big day.

On the wedding day, they were both pretty relaxed with just a tad of nerves. Throughout the whole wedding day, both of them were joking with their bridal party. During the reception, they spent most of the night in the middle of all their friends on the dance floor.

While there were a few changes because of COVID, you would never hear a complaint out of either of these two and they took it all in stride without missing a beat.

They opted to see each other for the first time when they walked down the aisle, and it was a sweet time. Sam’s reaction was exactly what you would expect from a man who is totally in love with his bride. His face was full of joy as she took every step down the aisle to him.

It turned out to be there perfect day, weather-wise! We were so worried we would have rain at some point, since the days leading up to the wedding were rainy and there was rain predicted in Saturday’s forecast. Thankfully, it was a hot and sunny day!

Once Mitchel and I arrived at the church on the wedding day, we met Alyssa and her bridesmaids in the parking lot as they were arriving. Before we could even say hi, Alyssa greeted us from across the street with a huge smile, “how are you guys??!” I would say that described her demeanor the whole day!

Sam and Alyssa exchanged letters to read before the ceremony, and had them delivered by a bridesmaid and groomsman. Their ceremony was sweet, and was performed by our campus pastor from the Grace Anderson campus.

The reception felt like a party with wonderful food from Larkin’s and lots of dancing! They had their reception at Revel, which actually has a SUPER cool bowling alley beneath it. It has a very classic look with lots of brick and a perfect dance floor.

There were some fun facts about The Arnold wedding! Alyssa’s maid of honor wore many hats, more than the usual maid of honor. She was also the florist, and wow, is she talented?? They florals were gorgeous!

Sam & Alyssa also had a little surprise up their sleeve for their parents, they danced to the same song both sets of parents dance to at their weddings 24 and 25 years ago!

Alyssa also had a busy weekend! Her 21st birthday and her bachelorette party were just 2 days before the wedding! I think that shows just how much fun she is! 😉
