Sage Green Summer Wedding Day at Heyward Manor

Hallie De Granda and Andy McDonald were married on May 24, 2024 at Heyward Manor. We were so honored to get to capture their wedding day!

Hallie and Andy met while they were students at Anderson University several years ago. We first met Andy years ago while he was serving with AV/Worship team with our church. Years later, we met Hallie when we served in Student Ministry together, and then eventually were in Home Group together. We have been so impressed with Andy and Hallie and how they both faithfully served the church and were committed to being a part of a church family even while being such busy college students. We have been encouraged by the two of them and have enjoyed getting to know them both in different seasons. 

Hallie and Andy chose to have their wedding day at the beautiful Heyward Manor in Iva, SC. Yet another fun church connection to Hallie was with the venue owner’s daughter, our dear friend Tori Beth. She and her husband were also in our Home Group with Hallie. When Hallie and Andy were finishing up their final weeks of college last year and began thinking about their future engagement and wedding, I remember Hallie mentioning that the only venue of many Upstate venues that Andy really liked was Heyward Manor. It was so fun to get to see them begin planning and dreaming of what their wedding day was going to look like early on. 

The Wedding Day at Heyward Manor

Hallie and her bridesmaids and mom were finishing up hair and makeup in the beautiful bridal suite when we arrived. We got to hang out with them while I photographed their bridal details, then we went to the amazing groom’s suite to see Andy and his groomsmen. Hallie got into her dress and then it was time for Andy and Hallie’s first look right in front of the venue. They shared a sweet moment and it looked like any nervousness just melted away after they saw each other. 

After their first look, we took a few photos and then their wedding party joined us for some photos. We went inside the venue after that where Hallie surprised her dad with a custom made tie and he got to see his beautiful daughter in her dress! They had a few moments of downtime before walking down to the ceremony area by the pond. All of the ceremony areas at Heyward are stunning, but the pond is my favorite!

Their ceremony was beautiful and afterwards, we took some family photos and then a few more of Andy and Hallie together before heading inside for their reception! They shared a sweet first dance, showcasing some swing dance moves and the most fun twirls with Hallie’s gorgeous dress! Dinner was catered from Sullivan’s featuring the best shrimp and grits in the world and the arguably the best cake on earth from Brick Street Cafe. We loved their coffee bar from Flying Fox Coffee and their guests sure did too!

They danced and shared many laughs together through the evening. We snick outside for a few minutes just before sunset and took some sweet shots in the Meadow. They exited their reception with beautiful sparklers at the end of the night.
