Clemson SC Engagement Session | Kalyn & Preston

Clemson SC Engagement Session

I just love Winter engagement sessions! Lots of people might think that shooting during the Winter will look less colorful or dead since there tends to be less leaves on the trees. I am here to tell you that Winter sessions can still be full or color, beautiful glowy light, and vibrance. You just have to know what to look for.

I got to photograph Kalyn & Preston just a few days before Christmas! The weather was cool but not too cold, and just perfect. Since it was close to the holidays, we didn’t have to dodge people and had each location to ourselves!

Kalyn is a huge Clemson fan, so she wanted to do their photos in a few different spots on and near campus. We started out at the Botanical Gardens in Clemson and spent the majority of our time during their session there. We found a few really pretty spots that I was so happy with! Kalyn loves lots of nature shots, so my goal was to find pretty trees, glowy light, and tall grasses, and we thankfully found all of those!

Then we went over to Memorial Stadium and got some great shots there. Throughout their relationship, Kalyn and Preston have been to several Clemson football games together or with her family. Preston is a trooper, because he is actually a Carolina fan, but is so supportive of Kalyn and her love for Clemson.

Preston even proposed to Kalyn right in front of Death Valley at the front of the stadium because Clemson means so much to her. He proposed on her birthday right on the big Clemson paw in front of the gates to the hill.

Preston is from the lower part of the state, in Aiken, but him and Kalyn actually met since he was in the upstate at Southern Wesleyan University for school. He and Kalyn are both now teachers in the Upstate, and I love that they can share that passion together.

Our last spot where we shot for the last few minutes of their session, close to sunset, was the dikes at Clemson. We got lucky enough to have a beautiful view of the water, glowy light, and a beautiful sky.

Here are a few of my very favorite shots from my time with Kalyn and Preston. We can’t wait for their wedding in May at Events at Iszy’s in Liberty!
