Elegant Wedding at Occasions at Wedgefield

Sam and Nikki Atkinson were married at Occasions at Wedgefield in Central, SC (a small town right outside of Clemson). I had never been to the venue before taking Nikki’s bridal portraits back in October, but I just loved the southern charm and simplicity of the venue. Sam and Nikki first met at church, Grace Church in Powdersville, and eventually went on a date together. The rest is history! Mitchel and I also met Nikki at Grace Powdersville in 2014 before we got married. We were in a community group with her and loved getting to know her then, and then meeting Sam when we took their engagement pictures this past Summer. 

Nikki and Sam are such a fun couple! Sam is a jokester and Nikki is more quiet and reserved when you first meet her. Sam makes jokes and Nikki makes faces at him. Haha. They remind me so much of Mitchel and I! Their wedding day was so sweet and genuinely them! A few weeks before the wedding when I asked Nikki how we could pray for them in the days and weeks leading up to the wedding, her answer was simple, “You can pray for a smooth wedding day and that we will keep our focus on the main goal of what this day is all about, God bringing two people together as one.” I just loved that. Some brides would have given a list with specifics of things they were concerned about, but not Nikki. 🙂

Sam and Nikki’s day went smoothly and from what it appeared, pretty effortlessly as well. Everyone was calm while getting ready and their families were so kind and helpful! They had some of the best vendors, too! Thankfully, even though there was rain in the forecast for the evening, we were blessed with mild, cool weather and not a drop of rain until we were finishing up portraits and about to head inside to the reception. It was perfect!

One of my most favorite parts of their day, and definitely a favorite of their reception was Nikki’s dance with her bridesmaids. They exited the reception venue, and then came in with a grand entrance to Ariana Grande’s Side to Side. It was the best and they were hilarious. 🙂

Sam and Nikki, your day was so beautiful and no one deserves happiness more than the two of you! I am so honored that Mitchel and I were there to witness your perfect day. The two of you looked so happy the entire day! Thank you a million times over for being so incredible! The two of you were so laid back and have the sweetest families and we loved being able to capture the joy of your day! We can’t wait to see how the Lord uses your marriage for His glory!
