Marriage Monday: Sunrises, sunsets, a deer, and a baby

This past weekend was a bit of a whirlwind. We got to see the sunrise on our way to Columbia on Saturday morning and sunset in Anderson on Sunday night. And oh my goodness, they were GORGEOUS!

We found out on Friday evening that we would be leaving super early on Saturday morning because my sister was having baby Charlotte! We left our house at 5:15am to head to Columbia!

We are so thankful for God’s protection after a deer ran straight into the driver side door of Mitchel’s car at 5:30am on a dark backroad while we were on the way to see our niece be born! Yes, a deer hit US. We did not hit the deer, it literally ran smack dab into the side of the car.

We are okay and Mitchel had only a few, tiny scrapes from all the glass busting out of his driver side door’s window. It was scary but I can’t believe that Mitchel wasn’t hurt. God was definitely watching over us! And thankfully we were only 15 minutes from home and his car was drivable so we could go home and get my car.

We made it to the hospital with plenty of time to spare. My sister was a champ and brought baby Charlotte into the world at 6:44pm on Saturday night! I am so thankful that I was able to be there for the birth and got to capture it all. I can’t wait to share some of the images from the day soon!
