Columbia, SC Wedding | Mr. & Mrs. Mintz

Columbia sc vibrant fall wedding

Columbia, SC Autumn-Inspired Backyard Wedding

Justin and Emily were married on the perfect Fall day, October 17th in Columbia, SC at a friend’s land. The weather was perfect, and was actually a bit cool, which you never know if you’ll get in SC in mid-October!

The venue is complete with a beautiful pond, island, gazebo and beautiful greenery surrounding the entire property. We actually had the chance to first shoot out at the property in June of 2019, for Kirsten and Adam’s wedding day.

We loved getting to do Emily and Justin’s engagement photos out at their friends house back in May, when our first plan fell through because of park closures due to Covid.

Emily chose the most perfect color scheme for their wedding day. There were shades of garnet, orange, gold, and navy. I was so impressed with how her vision came together. They used pumpkins and vibrantly colored flowers for their arrangements, which I loved!

On the wedding day, Emily got to the venue early with her girls. They partied and had a blast together while getting dressed and doing hair and makeup. Emily was a little bit nervous, but mostly just excited!

Justin and his guys arrived a little later in the day. They were so relaxed and just hung out together watching the USC vs. Auburn football game. I not-so-secretly loved that so many of them were Gamecock fans and that the game was on tv in the main area in the venue, because that meant I got to pop in every now and then to check the score! 😉

I asked Justin how he was feeling and he said just ready to be married!

We were able to do groomsmen pictures before the ceremony, and quickly found out that Justin and his guys are a ton of fun! We also got to spend time with Emily and her girls, taking photos of them getting ready and doing the sweetest bridesmaids reveal once Emily got into her dress with hair and makeup fully done!

The ceremony was on the little inlet/island right across the bridge, and it was just perfect. Some highlights of the ceremony were little Liam, Justin and Emily’s 2 year old son, walking around and even coming up to them during the ceremony to be held. I loved that he was so involved and in-the-moment with them.

He did the same during their first dance and Emily and her dad’s dance, which made for the sweetest photos! I hope he is able to look back on those when he is older. Such sweet memories.

Emily and Justin, thank you for allowing us to capture your day! We hope you’re having a blast on your honeymoon at the beach!
