First Presbyterian and Gaston Country Club Wedding

Kathryn Rhyne and James Anthony were married at First Presbyterian Church of Belmont with a reception at Gaston Country Club. The sweet couple is so well loved, their wedding had around 350 people in attendance, one of the largest weddings we have photographed!

I actually photographed Kathryn’s cousin’s wedding in October 2020, Rachel and Owen!

Kathryn and James met in high school. Their very first date was at Waffle House, which they now laugh about. They went to prom together, dated for 6 years, including a time of long distance while James was in the naval academy, and then again when he was stationed in Corpus Christi, Texas. Kathryn was a nurse in Raleigh and recently moved back home to Belmont with her parents as she got ready to move to Texas just a few days after the wedding, which where they’ll start their new life together. 

They have been through lots of long distance and life changes and were married on their 6 year dating anniversary!

The Wedding Day

Kathryn and James were all smiles on their wedding day. When I talked to Kathryn over the phone a few weeks before the wedding day, she told me she and James are very smiley and joyful, and she was so right. I think both of them had a smile on their face the entire day.

It was a lovely day full of sunshine and warmth. Kathryn and her girls got ready together at the Rhyne’s home, just a few minutes away from the church, then we took some portraits of them outside of their beautiful church.

We did the same for the guys before the ceremony, and then it was go-time!

The ceremony was in the church Kathryn grew up in and was sentimental and sweet. After the ceremony we took more photos of their family and wedding party and then everyone jumped onto the party bus to head over to the country club for the reception. 

The reception was full of wonderful foods, lots of friends, tons of great music from the band, lots of dancing, and an all around amazing time had by all!
