Mr. & Mrs. Mandel | An Easley, SC Christmas Wedding

Greenbrier Farms Rainy Winter Wedding

Katrina and Matt met years ago when they were in high school.

As her dad told it, they first showed interest in each other when they were juniors in high school and it came time for prom. Matt waited around in asking Katrina to go to prom with him. Well someone else asked, and Matt was not having it. So thus began their relationship.

The pair dated throughout the rest of high school, all through college, and then endured long distance while Katrina was in grad school up north and Matt began work in South Carolina. She then moved to be with him and he proposed to her in the Spring on a nature walk at Conestee Nature Preserve.

Since this spot was so special to them, and also so beautiful, we decided to take their engagement photos there as well! I enjoyed getting to know them that day as we walked all around the area!

The Wedding Day

Matt and Katrina together is just the sweetest. Everyone who knows Matt knows he is more reserved and quiet. Matt’s mom told me on the wedding day she has never seen her son smile so much, as she was so glad he was so happy on his wedding day. I think many people, including Matt’s brother in his toast at the wedding, knew this. Matt’s brother said 2 things make Matt happy, Katrina and beer. Haha!

On their big day, Matt and Katrina were both so happy and ready for the day. Katrina and her girls got ready in the bridal suite and the guys arrived a little later in the day and played cards after they got ready.

Matt and Katrina shared a first look right outside of the venue in the cutest cozy looking spot, complete with twinkly lights and subtle Christmas garland. It was a sweet moment and then we took a few photos of the two of them.

After that, we rounded up their bridal party and took some photos of Katrina and Matt with their best people! This was one of my favorite times of the day because everyone seemed so joyful and like they were just enjoying one another.

Their ceremony was just perfect and because of all of the rain we had gotten and how cold it was, the ceremony was indoors. The venue was perfectly decorated with lots of strands of white twinkling lights which made for a beautiful ceremony and reception spot.

Their reception was sweet and Katrina danced the night away and genuinely looked like she was having so much fun with her sisters, mom, aunts, and lots of friends on the dance floor.

We loved the dances they had planned at the reception…of course Katrina’s dance with her dad was sweet and emotional, Matt and his mom danced together and had a sweet time, and then Katrina and her mom danced together in a choreographed upbeat and fun song, “Mom” by Meghan Trainor. I know it was a fun and happy song, but the love between Katrina and her mom had me all emotional. I just loved seeing how much they love each other and how much Katrina respects and honors her by having a special dance with her.

Katrina and Matt also had a time of singing happy birthday to his brother and her sister who had birthdays within days of the wedding day. So sweet to give them their moment in the midst of Matt and Katrina’s perfect day.

They shared a private last dance and then a bubble exit, which was just beautiful!

Special note to the couple:
