How long have you been married?
Phil and I have been married for almost 36 years.

Do you have children or grandkids?
We have two sons, two daughter-in-loves, two grandchildren and three grandpuppies.

Let’s be honest for a minute, we are pretty private people. If it were up to us, we would spend just about every evening in our homes, by ourselves. The problem is, we know that it isn’t good for us, our social skills, our spiritual lives, or even our marriage.

We are passionate about photographing couples and weddings, of course. But we care even more about thriving marriages. We are here for our brides and grooms beyond the wedding day and we are cheering for your marriage! That’s why we have decided to start a blog series in an interview format this year called Marriage Stories.

When you are first married, leaving room for quality time usually isn’t an issue. Newlyweds typically want to spend tons of time together, hanging out and experiencing their new life together. But as life got busy, that changed for us!

2018 was my year of podcasts and audiobooks, as a way to supplement my lack of desire for reading. I have discovered my love for podcasts because they are a great way to learn and grow. But in 2019, I’ve decided to read a book a month. (Which may not seem like a lot to my husband who read almost 50 books last year), but it’s a big deal for me.

If you’ve been around a while, you may have seen our Marriage Monday blog posts. This is something that started as a desire to share more about our own marriage and things we are learning. It turned into a desire to pour into other marriages!

Christmas time is here! Tomorrow is the big day, when all of us wake up (sometimes early in the morning – sometimes not so early) and we start opening up all the wrapping and bows which took wayyyy too long to fix.
