On September 14, 2024, Mary Stewart Leatherwood and Will Donelson were married at Grace Church in beautiful Downtown Greenville. The day was a perfect blend of worship, love, joy, and cherished moments for the couple and their family and friends.
Mary Stewart and Will met in Knoxville, TN where they live and work. One night they were working in the Trauma ICU, where Mary Stewart is a pharmacist and will is a physician. They shared briefly about their shared faith, and then later on Will had a chance to give Mary Stewart his phone number.
They talked more in the coming weeks and then Mary Stewart overheard Will talking about his love of tomatoes….she shared her love of tomato sandwiches, and completely sold Will on the one and only Duke’s mayo for the tomato sandwich. He tried his first tomato and mayo sandwich, and the rest is history!
The wedding day began as Mary Stewart, her bridesmaids, and her mother gathered at a cute Airbnb just outside of downtown to prepare for the big day, hanging out and having hair and makeup done. Laughter and so many smiles, and a few tears were shared and then it was time for Mary Stewart to put on her stunning wedding gown. The bridesmaids had the most beautiful floral dresses, which perfectly matched Mary Stewart’s happy, floral vibe for the day!
One of the most heartwarming moments of the day occurred during the first look that Will and Mary Stewart shared. Will stood nervously as Mary Stewart approached, her stunning wedding gown flowing gracefully around her. The moment he turned to see her, the look of awe on his face was undeniable. Mary Stewart looked radiant, and it was clear that this was a moment they would both treasure forever.
Mary Stewart also shared a moment with her father, who was immediately overcome with emotion upon seeing his daughter in her wedding dress. It was a heartfelt reminder of the love and support that had surrounded her throughout her life, making this day even more special.
Next, the couple made their way to Grace Church in beautiful downtown Greenville for the ceremony. This location held special significance for Mary Stewart and her family, who’ve attended Grace in Powdersville for many years. The ceremony was beautifully worshipful, filled with heartfelt vows and tender moments. As they walked back up the aisle as newlyweds, Mary Stewart couldn’t contain her excitement, squealing and grinning all the way. The love in the air was palpable, radiating from the couple and their loved ones.
We took photos along the iconic front steps of Downtown Grace Church and then the couple was off to party!
The celebration continued at The L, a beautiful exposed brick venue in Greenville owned by Larkins. The reception was a lively affair, with delicious food, a heartfelt speech by Mary Stewart’s dad, a live band, and plenty of dancing. Guests enjoyed a festive atmosphere that reflected the couple’s personalities and the love that surrounded them. It was a night filled with laughter, joy, and unforgettable memories as friends and family celebrated the beginning of Mary Stewart and Will’s journey together.
As the night came to a close, it was clear that Mary Stewart and Will’s wedding was not just an event but a celebration of love, family, and faith. From the sweet moments shared in the morning to the joyous celebration in the evening, every detail reflected the couple’s story and the beautiful life they are building together. Here’s to a lifetime of happiness for the newlyweds!
